DIY: Tea Bag Nail Wrap

I always like to keep my nails nice and long, but every once in a while I get that terrible rip right in the middle of the nail that ruins it all! So here's a super easy way to seal the deal, if you don't have the time to get a real wrap put on at the nail salon. Yes, it is made with a tea bag. I know, I know, it sounds super weird, but the tea bag material is very similar to actual nail wraps and it works amazingly, I promise.

I came home yesterday to some amazing things in the mail. The Sally Hansen duo-tone nail polish that I'm dying to try out (remember?), an obnoxious neon lime Marc by Marc Jacobs Ipad case that I've been eying for a while. Of course, I had to get an Ipad first, which my lovely boy got me for Christmas. The sunglasses I've had for a while, but have been using a lot lately thanks to this lovely weather we've been getting in New York. Oh yes, and I can't forget my new business cards, just in time for the IFB conference on February 8th, SUPER EXCITED. Tell me what you think of them! (yes, they are square!)

Duo-Tone Nails

CHANEL-PERIDOT / GARETH PUGH FOR MAC-ASCENSION

Ok, so, like everyone else out there, I've become completely obsessed with duo-tone nail polishes, such as the ever so famous, Chanel Peridot. At one point, I almost gave in and bought it for $30, but wisely stopped myself and said, "Am I really going to use this polish more than, at the very most, 10 times?" Totally not worth it if you ask me. Not to mention this polish is now selling for $50 on Ebay (crazy, I tell ya!). And recently I discovered the Gareth Pugh line for MAC and fell completely in love with the Ascension color. $22, eh, not too bad. But I couldn't help but think in the back of my mind that I've seen this exact color somewhere else. The more I kept thinking about it, I realized I have that color buried in my collection of polishes. At last, I found it! But for some reason I had ripped the label off and the only thing on the bottle was the name "Emerald Amethyst" on top. After a little Google researching I found that it is from the Sally Hansen Nail Prisms collection. Now it's all coming back to me, I bought this from a drug store! Anyway, most of the colors from the Nail Prism collection are discontinued, but are selling on Ebay and Amazon for $5-$10. I'll take that! So many beautiful duo-tones, particularly the Amber Ruby color that I'm definitely snatching up.

Um, hello, AMAZING! And in my opinion even better than Chanel's Peridot, yea, I said it.
So here's the color I have, Emerald Amethyst.

Almost exactly the same as Gareth Pugh for MAC's Ascension, not as shimmery, but just as good. So, moral of the story, do your research before you spend an absurd amount of money on designer pieces, you'll almost always find something similar, and just as amazing.

Burgundy Black and Sparkle

Now that its finally cool out (we had a couple 80 degree days here in NY) I can wear my hats again! One of my favorite accessories. Just picked up this new one at Forever 21 in a beautiful burgundy color, definitely one of my new favorite colors for fall. And finally wearing my new matte lipstick from NARS. I'm usually not a huge fan of matte lipsticks but in this particular color, it helps to create a natural look. Loving sparkly nail polish lately and layering it on top of black helps it sparkle that much more.

I didn't buy these at FNO, but for FNO.  I wanted to have them so bad, I ended up buying them twice on Solestruck! The first time I picked standard shipping and they weren't going to be delivered in time.  Second time I picked express and they were scheduled to come the day before, BUT I missed UPS while I was at work!  And so, I finally received these amazing shoes the day of only for them to rip my feet up all night (whoever said these were comfortable in the reviews are out of their minds).

Chrome Polish

Currently on the hunt for this chrome nail polish, isn't it so sick?  If anyone knows where/how I can get these almost mirror like nails, please, do tell.
