Abstract

Here's a little something that I was working on for my summer class, which is finally over by the way! I was feeling a little artsy fartsy yesterday and created this abstract painting with acrylic paint and ink. I thought it would be a cool idea to show the whole process by making an animated gif. I think this is the first animated gif I've ever made (and abstract painting for that matter!). Jammin' out to some music and painting away actually felt really great. I think I should do this more often!

Photo Diary: Bonnaroo 2012

MANDEE!
GETTING READY FOR LUDACRIS!
LUDAAAAA!
RADIOHEAD
FLOWER CROWNS
JOSH GOT THIS AWESOME TIGER SHIRT FROM WALMART...CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?
PINE CONE NECKLACES

A little overdue, but here is my photo diary from Bonnaroo. Bonnaroo is seriously one of the best experiences I've ever had. I've been to a bunch of different music festivals, but nothing seems to compare to Bonnaroo, it's a completely different experience being able to camp out on the actual grounds. Yea, we get dirty and grungy, but it's all worth it to see some of the greatest bands and DJs and meeting many new people from all over the country, world even. If you're ever thinking about going, GO, you'll never regret it, I promise.

Illustration: Color and Design Pt 2

So, I promised you the second part of the Tiffany illlustration project and here it is! For this illustration I was influenced by the fashion illustrator Nikki Farquharson. Her amazing pattern line work is incredible and it encouraged me to try and create some crazy ink patterns to use as a background. This illustration is also mixed media using digital illustration, digital photography and ink. This particular illustration was based off of Tommy Ton's incredible street style photo from this style.com album (shown below).

Illustration: Color Blocking Tiffany

I simply cannot get away from Tiffany! Here's an illustration I did for my Color and Design final project. I used mixed media (digital illustration, paint and ink). Most of the time school projects are dreadful because you are constrained to certain requirements, but this was basically a free project and I had so much fun with it! I knew I wanted to pick one of my own photos to base the illustration off of and I just couldn't seem to get this outfit out of my mind. What do you think?

Feel free to share, but please make sure to give credit!

P.S. There is a second part to this project that I'm still working on that will be on the blog soon, so be sure to check back!

Banner for Tiff James Deen

I'm sooo excited to show you guys an illustration I created for my lovely friend Tiffany of Tiff James Deen! She's super fly and chic, so I thought stunna shades and pastel pink lips were the most appropriate.  This was a really fun project and I'm definitely going to keep doing these for my portfolio, so expect more to come! What do you guys think?
